Challenge

Create a single, mobile-friendly safety course that standardizes critical practices (policies, emergencies, ergonomics, driving, field/lab, work-zone, confined space) for both office and field staff.

Solution

An 8-lesson Rise course with short, interactive sections and a knowledge check. Highlights include:

• Policies & reporting with emergency vs. non-emergency decisioning.

• Emergency response sequences (evacuation steps, PASS fire-extinguisher micro-demo).

• Ergonomics tabs (posture, force/frequency, workstation tips).

• Driving safety essentials and cell-phone policy.

• Field & lab safety (PPE baseline; hazard communication; chemical labeling).

• Work-zone awareness (heavy-equipment blind spots; traffic control).

• Confined space risks and entry protocols.

• Quiz (3 items) to confirm mastery.

Process

• Analysis: Mapped incidents/policies to learner tasks; prioritized high-risk scenarios.

• Design: Chunked content into micro-lessons; chose tabs/flip-cards for scanning; wrote scenario prompts.

• Development: Built responsive Rise blocks; authored icons/graphics in Canva; added alt text and clear headings.

• Quality: Accessibility pass (contrast, keyboard path, captions) and SME review.
