Set the Stage for Effective 1-on-1s
The Full Story
Type:Video
Tools: Canva, PowerPoint, Camtasia
Challenge
As part of adopting the new performance management system, leaders needed clear, concise guidance on how to hold meaningful 1-on-1 conversations with their team members.
The challenge was to help managers move beyond transactional updates and model a coaching mindset that supports trust, growth, and accountability.
Solution
I created an animated video in Canva, designed for busy leaders who prefer short, visual guidance.
The video uses storytelling and clean animation to demonstrate:
-
How to open 1-on-1s with empathy and curiosity
-
Ways to ask effective questions and listen actively
-
Tips to close meetings with shared action items and follow-through
-
How consistent communication builds engagement and performance
The style is minimalist, branded, and mobile-friendly — with captions and accessible color contrast.
